How to take

Care of me

65 to 80° F. Keep me away from cold drafts, air conditioning or heating vents, and hot surfaces like radiators or furnaces.

TEMPERATURE

Keep consistently moist but never soggy. Water with distilled water or leave tap water sitting out for 24 hours before using to allow chemicals to evaporate.

WATERING

Use a liquid or houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Fertilize me weekly during the summer growing season only.

FERTILIZER

If you notice spider mites, mealybugs, or whiteflies, gently wipe them off with a 50/50 mix of soap and water.

POTENTIAL PESTS

Clip off faded flower stalks or yellow leaves at their base.

PRUNING

I like being root bound, but repot me when I've clearly outgrown my current pot. Choose a new pot that is 2" wider with plenty of drainage holes.

REPOTTING

Mist me frequently in the summer because I thrive on humidity. I also like rich potting soil with lots of organic material. Keep me moist and don't allow the soil to dry out.To keep me shiny, dust my leaves occasionally with a damp cloth.
